Frederick House who has played two games for Lietuvos Rytas in the SEB BBL averaging 14 points and 10,5 rebounds will miss the rest of the season due to knee injury. Shooting guard picked up the injury on 18th of January when his team was hosting Red Star in the last game of the ULEB Cup???¢?¢??¬?¢??¢s preliminary round.
Tomorrow Rytas will battle against Zalgiris in "Siemens" Arena without him.

In today???¢?¢??¬?¢??¢s only game in SEB BBL Neptunas from Lithuania celebrated a home victory ???¢?¢??¬?¢?? 101:93 (23:24, 20:23, 31:19, 27:27) - over Valmieras Piens from Latvia. Sheiku Kabba poured in 28 points for the winners, Zydrunas Stankus added 20. Ilmars Bergmanis led Valmieras Piens with 18 points, Jevgenijs Kosuskins scored 17 and grabbed 9 rebounds.

Tonight the preliminary stage in the ULEB Cup came to an end, after which the only two teams remaining with one defeat in 10 games were the current Lithuanian and Latvian Basketball leagues???¢?¢??¬?¢??¢ leaders Lietuvos Rytas and Ventspils who are also considered to be among the favourites in the SEB BBL.
In group G Tyrone Nesby and Andrius Slezas each scored 19 points to lift Rytas to a 77:60 home victory over BC Red Star, while in group B Brent Wright contributed 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to beat Rheinenergie Cologne with 89:75.

Estonian team Ehitustooriist have signed American guard Howard Frier (201cm) to a 4-month contract. The 28-year old Frier spent the last three seasons with UKJ Obelwartensdorf in Austria but left the team in November.
Ehitustooriist, who are currently ranked 2nd in the Estonian Basketball League, will hope that Frier can be the difference for the Estonians, who have lost both of their first two SEB BBL games.

Valmieras Piens hosted Barons/LU tonight to prove that they deserve to hold the second spot in the Latvian Basketball League after winning 79:76 in a tight ending thanks to Ilmars Bergmanis efforts. It was the first victory in the SEB BBL for Valmiera, who lost its previous game to Sakalai last Saturday, while Barons/LU now have fallen to the last spot in division 1.

A local match between Zalgiris and Neptunas was held today in Kaunas, where Tanoka Beard scored 22 with 10-of-12 shooting from the field and pulled down 15 rebounds lifting Zalgiris to second consecutive win in the SEB BBL with 112:90.
Zalgiris performed well offensively with 31 to 18 points in the first period, while the second closed 28:21 to take an impressive 20 point lead going into second half.

Rolandas Skaisgirys scored 18 points and Renaldas Seibutis added 17 in a convincing Sakalai away victory over Ehitustooriist with 80:61 (18:20, 20:12, 16:21, 26:8). Andrius Slezas scored 26 and Tyrone Nesby added another 17 for Lietuvos Rytas in a convincing away victory over TU/Rock 106:80 (27:22, 27:16, 24:21, 28:21), leading the Lithuanian team to a 2-1 record and the number one spot in the overall standings. Tarmo Kikerpill recorded 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for TU/Rock.

Reigning European champions Lithuania will play against Turkey, Croatia and Bulgaria, while Latvia will entertain Spain, Serbia and Montenegro and the winner of additional qualifying tournament in the first round of European Men Basketball Championships 2005. Eurobasket 2005 will be held from 15th to 25th September in Serbia and Montenegro.

In a very even contest Jason Coleman scored game-high - 36 points - for the winners, Mareks Jurevicus and Ben Walker both contributed 12, Klavs Ansons added 10 points. Two players got 17 points for the guests ???¢?¢??¬?¢?? Svajunas Airosius and Igor Kurashov.
