PANEVEZYS, Lithuania – Lietkabelis, formerly known as Techasas, has claimed a resounding 109-67 victory over Barsy on Tuesday night to all but confirm their Challenge Cup semi-final berth.

Going into the return leg on Wednesday, Lietkabelis simply need to assure that they do not lose by more than 42 points as Barsy will attempt to overcome the impossible.

The massive victory can be put down an all-round team effort that would remarkably see eight players finish in double figures with all 10 of the players to see more than 10 minutes court time finishing with points on the board.

The outside shooting of the guests was particularly impressive as they managed to shoot at a higher percentage (64.3%) from outside the perimeter than they managed inside (62%).

At the other end Barsy were producing a horror offensive display, shooting at 37.8% inside the perimeter and 26.3% outside, this despite Pavlo Tsopych making four-of-four three-pointers.

The remainder of his team would only manage one three-pointer between them.

Remarkably, Barsy and Lietkabelis would both score 43 points in the second half. It was the first in which the real damage had been inflicted with the hosts outscoring their guests 66-24.

In the full likelihood that Lietkabelis make the semifinals, they will meet Palanga (formerly Naglis) in the semi-finals.
