Seven year reign of BK Ventspils came to an end on Sunday afternoon as ASK <city w:st="on" /><place w:st="on" />Riga</place /></city /> dominated Game 6 of LBL Finals recording comfortable 91:77 victory. <city w:st="on" /><place w:st="on" />Riga</place /></city /> won the series 4:2. Both teams went for the paint early in the game with ASK <city w:st="on" /><place w:st="on" />Riga</place /></city /> being more successful. Led by Bramlett and Braggs hosts opened 11:4 lead after 4:15 played. Ventspils came back by throwing Vaikulis into the game. Explosive guard scored 7 quick points and Helmanis followed with four free-throws to level the score – 20:20. None of the teams were able to grab a significant lead before the half-time break however several Ventspils players got into foul trouble limiting Karlis Muiznieks options. Ventspils struggled offensively and could not find the rim (3Pt 6/27, 22%; 2Pt 17/37, 45%) throughout the entire game with peak at the third quarter. More emotional ASK Riga team opened a useful 10 point gap and maintained the lead until the buzzer – 91:77 in the Game 6 and 4:2 in the LBL Finals. Team captain Sandis Valters earned MVP nomination despite mediocre performance in the Game 6.
