In a very erratic game for the third place of the tournament ASK Riga managed to make some substantial runs and appeared victorious against its town’s rival Barons/LMT 96:82.

Barons/LMT grabbed an early lead and contained it throughout the whole first quarter. After 6 minutes of play Joao Paolo Batista scored a two-pointer to make it 21:13 up by Barons/LMT. The first period ended 32:27.

Early in the second quarter ASK Riga executed way better on the offensive end and overbalanced the score in their favor – 37:36. More than 4 minutes left to play in the first half Barons/LMT scored 5 points without an answer to recover a slippery lead. However, Armands Skele made two shots at the stripe to give his team already a double-digit lead – 53:43. Players went to the locker-rooms as the scoreboard showed 56:46 up by Barons/LMT.

The situation on the court changed substantially in the third quarter. Barons/LMT faced troubles scoring baskets. In the middle of this period Barons/LMT appeared scoreless for almost 6 minutes and ASK Riga took advantage of it making a 17:0 run which absolutely changed the pace of this ball game and the score became 66:59. The margin between teams was 3 points as this period concluded – 71:68.

ASK Riga continued its successful performance in the fourth quarter as well grabbing 15 points lead late in the game, they did not waste such an advantage and sealed the victory home.

Andrius Mazutis scored 16 points for the winners, Gatis Jahovics and Aerick Sanders collected 15 apiece. Dontell Jefferson poured 22 for Barons/LMT, A.Skele added 16.
