2008-04-26 SEB Baltic Group and SEB BBL Will Continue the Cooperation

Before the final games of the SEB Baltic Basketball League (SEB BBL) 2007/08 season SEB Baltic Group and SEB BBL signed an agreement about the financial support provision for the following three years. The agreement was signed during the official ceremony where participated SEB BBL Chairman of the Board Ojars Kehris, SEB BBL Director Romualdas Brazauskas, SEB BBL Member of the Board and Secretary General of the Estonian Basketball Federation Karel D. Loide, President of the SEB Latvia Ainars Ozols, Director of Marketing Division of the SEB Estonia Karl Multer and Executive Vice-president and Head of Retail Banking of the SEB Lithuania Vytautas Sinius.
SEB Baltic Group is the general sponsor of the SEB BBL from its first day. Starting with the season 2005/06 Baltic Basketball League gained its present name – SEB Baltic Basketball League. The new agreement is a proof to the mutually successful cooperation. SEB BBL has developed as the most important sports competition on the level of all Baltic States. The continuation of the cooperation will allow to strengthen prestige and importance of the SEB BBL in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and far beyond the borders of Baltic States.
Ojārs Kehris: „SEB Baltic Group is the first and the most significant partner of ours. The strength of the SEB BBL as you see it now has grown thankful to and together with SEB. The number of spectators during the SEB BBL games has grown significantly and I hope in the future the games of the league will be even more exciting. Additionally, I would like to emphasize the support of SEB to the Challenge Cup where basketball is mainly played by young Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian sportsmen. The development of this cup represents social responsibility to the new generation and the future of the basketball in all three Baltic countries.”
Ainars Ozols: „Since the establishment of SEB Baltic Basketball League we have had a very successful cooperation and we are excited to see that the league has become a significant sports event in the whole Baltic area. At the moment the League is still in the process of growth and therefore we agree with the League management that during this process it is important to focus on such values as development, goal orientation and high quality. The support to the League has been so far and remains our most important sports event and our priority. We are passionate about basketball at our bank”.
Agreement is a good example of stable partnership that enhances a rapid growth of the Baltic Basketball League. SEB BBL is ready to maintain leading position in a successful cooperation between Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
