Panevezys Techasas reminded of their strength in the small final against Liepajas Lauvas 84:79. Staskunas 21 points helped his team to secure the 3rd place in the SEB BBL Challenge Cup.

Techasas had an inspired start of the game. Their offenses were well-coordianted. With the help of Stasaitis, their effort was strong. They acquired a fast lead after the first quarter 28:13. The situation started to look even more grim for the Latvian fans, as the gap continued widening in the second quarter. Even though Cipruss and Citskovskis made some visible offensive effort, that was no match to the resistance from the other side. Score after the first half 49:29.

In the second half, Liepajas Lauvas started increasing the tempo, and this partially worked. Kosuskins was good at both ends of the court, and Liepajas Lauvas rallied off in a 13-6, thus equalling the balance in the contest. After the third quarter 68:53. Even if Liepajas Lauvas managed to close up to a dangerous range, Techasas were not in a mood to play around. They were capable of maintaining their lead till the end of the game 84:79.

This game did not have any additional meaning, as these two teams will still continue to play in the Challenge Cup next season.
