VEF Riga continued rolling and took an easy win 86:61 over Bumerangs/ASK. This allowed them to move even closer to the top of SEB BBL Challenge Cup standings.

The hosts VEF Riga did not lose a sweat from the first minute. Jeromanovs and Sheleketo joined forces to break in front 16:5. With the sole exception of Poznaks, Bumerangs/ASK looked completely helpless against the Black Death from Riga. This was only the tip of the iceberg, as the difference on the scoreboard increased to 24:11 after the first quarter.

Something broke in the well-rounded VEF Riga mechanism in the second quarter. Lack of experience reflected on their offensive performance; their attacks had huge problems getting through the defensive wall of Bumerangs/ASK. In the same time Snikis and Sokolovs used their potential and piled up some very valuable points for their squad. The result before the big break was not THAT boring anymore 36:32.

Some advice from head coach Valdis Valters in the break, and the ball started rolling once again. VEF Riga clearly dominated the stage in the third quarter of the contest. Jeromanovs and Gumenyuk did not hesitate to finish some well-planned offensive schemes, and the gap started getting wider and wider. The difference before the deciding quarter had already exceeded double-digit margin 64:50.

Bumerangs/ASK broke completely in the final ten minutes of the game. The situation did not change at all, and Strupovics and Jeromanovs increased the difference to high levels. The ending score 84:61 in VEF Riga favour.

Top Scorers: Edgars Jeromanovs (18), Janis Poznaks (14)
