2007-12-19 Stankus and Co ensure a win

Nevezis pulled off an easy road victory against VEF Riga 88:72. Stankus-factor was huge in this game (27 points).
VEF Riga headed off for an equal start. Russian wonder Sheleketo did not hesitate to use his potential. After 7 minutes, he drilled one from behind the arc to pull the blanket to the hosts 14:11. However, Viskontas was not satisfied with this situation and ended the first quarter 18:20 in Nevezis favour. Gulbis was active in the second quarter. Although ASK Riga attempted to show some resistance (28:28), Nevezis were evidently more prepared for the game. They ended the first half 35:53 in their favour, as ASK Riga were not able to display any character.
This trend continued in the second half. Veikalas and Stankus did not give away anything for free. They drilled shots from everywhere. Albeit VEF Riga had finally woken up, it was too little too late. Nevezis easily maintained their lead till the end of the game. The final score 72:88 on their side.
