Lietuvos rytas is the first three-time SEB BBL champion after beating Zalgiris 97:74 (52:49) in the final, held in Tartu. Chuck Eidson led the winners with superb 41 points - a best ever individual performance in SEB BBL finals' history.

Lietuvos Rytas had to work very hard to beat ASK Riga in a must-win semi-final game. Rytas won 85:76 (50:33) as Milko Bjelica made his season-high 19 points.

Zalgiris silenced the crazy crowd of Tartu, beating TU/Rock in SEB BBL semi-final 83:74. Dainius Salenga had 22, Paulius Jankunas 20 points for the winners.  Thus, it is going to be Zalgiris versus Rytas in the final of the SEB BBL for the 5th year in a row!

I think there is nothing new or surprising we can offer to such great and experienced team as Lietuvos Rytas. They have just qualified to Euroleague and it really means something. We are going to play slowly, work in defence and save our energy till the end of the game.

Tartu Rock deserves full respect for what they did in the play-off games as they won their principal rivals Kalev/Cramo on the road game. We are preparing very seriously for that game. Additional pressure is that Tartu Rock is going to play in their home arena.

When I started to work with the team the management set the goals – Lithuanian champions, Lithuanian Cup winners, Qualification for Eurocup Final Eight and SEB BBL Champions. At the moment we have already done more than that as we won Eurocup. But this is past, now we have to concentrate on the present goals.
