Tartu Rock was way too much for Nevezis to deal with as the Estonians grabbed their 5'th victory of the season by winning on the road 86:78. To make a mention, it was the first official win under the new head coach Inrek Visnapuu.
Rock started the game on a high note and after Marek Doronin lay-up, the guests were up 9:2. Nevezis closed the gap to 2 points and later on to a minimal difference, but Rock remained in control and did not allow the hosts to feel like they're actually at home. The Estonians finished the first period leading 25:20.
Rock scored 5 points without an answer to start the second quarter and built a double-digit advantage. The difference between teams became 20 points, when Tanoka Beard made a jump shot at the end of the first half - 46:26. Players went to the locker-rooms as the scoreboard showed 31:49.
Nevezis reduced its deficit to single digits after Darius Silinskis scored a bucket (42:51). Valdas Dabkus cut it to 4 midway through the third quarter (47:51) and concluded a 7:0 run. Gert Kullamae nailed 4 free throws in a couple of possessions, but the guests could not regain the lead in double digits and it was the fourth quarter that mattered most.
Rock played with more tenacity in the fourth and quickly regained a more solid lead. When George Tsintsadze scored a two point shot after 2 minutes of play, the guests led 66:52. The Lithuanians could not withstand a great offensive performance by Rock and were forced to recognize a tougher opponent's strength.
T.Beard scored 25 points along with 13 rebouns for the winners, M.Doronin and G.Kullamae added 13 points apiece. B.Veikalas stood out of Nevezis with 17 points, Aidas Viskontas added 15 (5 ast.).
