Lietuvos rytas was angry and unmerciful tonight. The Lithunians was to good for Venspils, because the Latvians did not have any weapons against defending champion and lost the game in Vilnius 96:72.

Top scorers:

"Lietuvos rytas": M.Bjelica 17, A.Baynes , D.Zavackas  - 15, J.Sinica 13.

"Ventspils": D.Bertanis 22, E.Kalve 16, R.Zakis 10, M.Jurevic 8.

Lietuvos rytas  started  perfect in this game. The hosts has made couple 3 point shots, moreover, D.Zavackas added 2 points shot and result was 11:1. V.Ginevicius was accurate from perimetre and after 5 minutes Lietuvos rytas was at the front almost overwhelming  - 22:5. Until the end of this quarter nothing has changed. Lietuvos rytas was a much better team 30:13.

Second quarter was similar to the previous. Lietuvos rytas controlled the game tempo and after D.Zavackas 3 points shot  Lietuvos rytas got a 20-point advantage – 33:13. Still, Ventspils did not want to give up, so, after M.Jurevic and D.Bertanis shots, the difference declined  (25:41). However, the difference between both team  was still too high. The hosts retained the initiative  until big break, because V.Ginevicius and S.Babrauskas helped with their points. So, after second quarter the result was “speaking” -  65:35.

The situation hasn’t changed after a break too. Lietuvos rytas  was too strong for Ventspils, because the guest did not have any weapons against Vilnius team. The Latvians has made more mistakes, they was not so aggressive in the offense,  not so disciplined in the defense also. Therefore  the Lithuanians did not have any problems with opponents. After third quarter  the result was  -  80:57.

The last quarter was just formality. The guest was to slow for Lietuvos rytas, therefore   the play was not intriguing. The Lithuanians  retained the advantage easily and celebrated the ensure victory.
