Today, on August the 25th, BBL Steering Committee has come to a decision that BBL Elite Division in 2009/2010 season will consist of 10 basketball clubs from the Baltic States.

Lithuania is represented by Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Žalgiris Kaunas, BC Šiauliai and BC Nevežis. The two Estonian teams are BC Kalev/Cramo and TÜ/Rock. The sure participants from Latvia in BBL Elite Division in coming season are BC Ventspils and VEF Riga.

The decision upon the other two clubs will be made by LBS (Latvian Basketball Association) Board by August the 28th, based on proposals from LBL (Latvian Basketball League).

All basketball clubs that play in elite divisions in national leagues but are not approved to play in BBL Elite Division, can take part in BBL Challenge Cup competition.

BBL Steering Committee asked the members of the BBL Board to take notice of the changes in BBL Elite Division Regulations for the next season and make a decision on approving these.
