Today, on September the 8th, the BBL Board approved the 4th basketball club from Latvia. It is BC “Liepajas Lauvas”.

Participants in Elite division in the season 2009/2010:
4 from Lithuania - „Lietuvos Rytas” (Vilnius), „Zalgiris” (Kaunas), BC „Sauliai” (Sauliai) and “Nevezis” (Kedainiai);
4 from Latvia – BC „Ventspils” (Ventspils), VEF Riga (Riga), “Valmiera” (Valmiera ) and BC “Liepajas Lauvas” (Liepaja);
2 from Estonia – BC Kalev/Cramo (Tallinn) and TU Rock (Tartu)

All basketball clubs that play in elite divisions in national leagues but are not approved to play in BBL Elite Division, can take part in BBL Challenge Cup competition.

As we informed before the BBL opening event of the new season „BBL Cup” will take place in Kaunas on September the 25th – 26th.
The first Semifinal will happen on Friday at 17.30 between „Lietuvos Rytas” and Kalev/Cramo, the second Semifinal - at 20.00 between „Zalgiris” and „Ventspils”. Game for the 3rd place will take place on Saturday at 13.45 and the game for the 1st place - at 16.15.
BBL Cup will be broadcasted by Viasat Sport Baltic.
