VEF Riga with the head coach Valdis Valters managed to outscore Liepajas Lauvas which was lead in the game by the head coach Armands Misus. The final result of the game was 95:57 (26:10, 24:9, 31:28, 14:10) in the favour of team VEF Riga.
Already in the first quarter VEF Riga showed they have arrived to collect a victory. VEF Riga was just unstoppable and the first quarter ended with an impressive VEF Riga lead 26 :10.
In the second quarter nothing changed on the field as VEF continued to increase their lead. Looked like the guys from Valdis Valter’s team has prepared for the game at a really high level. After the first half VEF still ahead 50:19.
Open basketball from the side of the both teams was played in the third quarter. Winner of the game was already clear and both teams thought more about the offence than defence. Before the final quarter VEF was leading the game 81:47.
The final quarter of the game was just a formality, however the teams showed a character and motivation to play in the defence. The result for this quarter was 14:10 in the favour of VEF Riga. At the end VEF Riga celebrated a victory in the first game of the season with the result 95:57.
