In an impressive game Ventpils outplayed team Zalgiris. Team Ventspils managed to win all the quarters and by gradually increasing their lead could celebrate a victory with the result 94:80 (25:21, 22:17, 22:18, 25:24).

The beginning of the game was very successful for the team Ventspils as they got a fast lead 10:4. Further on Zalgiris equalized the game and gradually diminished the lead of Ventspils. Four minutes till the end of the first quarter the result was 15:13 in the favour of Ventspils. In the next episodes the hosts made a run and it was already plus eight points for them. Till the end of the quarter Lithuanians managed to come back and after the first quarter it was 25:21.

Kalve was the one who opened the result in the second quarter. He even scored first six points in a row and the result was already 31:21. Then Zalgiris answered with seven points run and it was 31:28 the hosts still being ahead. But then again was time for Ventspils to organize effective offense and they regained a ten point lead 40:30. Well the game changed once again and Zalgiris made the result 42:38. It was only one minute left in the first half of the game. The end of it was played better by team Ventspils as Kalve and Zakis were precise. After twenty minutes of play it was 47:38.

After the big break Ventspils continued to dominate in the offence and when Bertans made a slam dunk Zalgiris was forced to ask for a time out. The result at this moment was 56:43. In the next episodes after the three pointer made by Buskevics Ventspils got a lead of plus 16 points 61:45. Next on Zalgiris made a run and diminished the lead of Ventspils till seven points and the result was 61:54. But in the final moments of this quarter Ventspils showed the character and before the final ten minutes made the result 69:56.

In the final quarter of the game Ventspils controlled the game and did not let team Zalgiris to decrease the difference in the result. Zalgiris did all they could but unfortunately for them too many missed shots did not let them come closer to team Ventspils. Less than a minute till the end of the game Ventspils got the biggest lead in the game – plus seventeen points. But the game ended up with the result 94:80 – a confident victory for the Latvians.
