After a yesterday loss against team Ventspils today Zalgiris showed their strength and left no hope for victory to the team Liepajas Lauvas. The final result of the game was 68:109 (20:27,15:31, 18:23, 15:28)

Zalgiris – Vene, Begic, Brown, Pocius, Capin

The start of the game was played very well by Liepajas Lauvas and they got a lead of 6:2. A few moments later Zalgiris already took over the lead and continued to outplay Latvians. Lithuanians made a run of 0:10  and the result was 6:12. Next on Liepajas Lauvas diminished the lead of team Zalgiris till the minimum 11:12. Further on both teams played open basketball and mainly thought about the offensive side. So, in the last four minutes of the first quarter there were lots of fast shots and the result after ten minutes was 20:27.

At the beginning of the second quarter the difference in the result grew over ten points and Zalgiris confidently controlled the game. After four minutes of play it was 27:43 in the favour of team Zalgiris. Further on Zalgiris continued to dominate and increased their lead till plus 20 points making the result 31:51. But they did not think of stopping and till the end of the first half of the game Zalgiris was leading with plus 23 points – 35:58.

Brown with a three pointer opened the result in the second half of the game, thus increasing the lead of Lithuanians. Jeromanovs and Vilums scored for Liepajas Lauvas but then again Zalgiris realized a few shots regaining a lead of plus 26 points making the result 40:66. Further on it was rather equal game where Zalgiris dictated the rules of the game. In the last minutes of the third quarter Zalgiris overcame the limit of plus 30 points. The result before the final ten minutes was 53:81.

In the final quarter nothing changed. It looked like a formality for both teams and they just wanted to play the game till the end. Zalgiris played confidently and continued to increase their lead. After three minutes of play it was 55:88 Lithuanians being in front. Delas with a three point move four minutes till the end of the quarter organized more than forty point lead for Zalgiris 58:99. Lithuanian fans called for the hundred points and they were heard by the team. Milaknis with a three pointer ensured it making the result 58:102. The final result of the game was 68:109.
