The winner of the MasterCard BBL regular season, Lietuvos Rytas had to strain every nerve to take the victory 81:78 in a must-win semifinal against Siauliai and an obligatory ticket to the MasterCard BBL Final game being held in Vilnius, Siemens arena.

In the first quater the fight between both teams was vey equal  (4:2, by Lietuvos rytas,  7min.) However, the start of the game was full of  the mistakes. In the middle of this quarter  a little stronger in the offense was Lietuvos rytas  - 5:2. After Martynas Gecevicius three point shot the result was 10:5. But later Siauliai answered with a two pointer (10:7). After another two pointer Siauliai was very close (10:9, 3min.).This quarter ended Lietuvos rytas being in front up by 3 points - 14:11.

In the second quarter Lietuvos rytas has made a run (18:11), but Siauliai did not want to give up and was close (18:13). Raitis Grafs has made a dunk for Siauliai (18:15), but Lietuvos rytas answered with a two pointer too. In the middle of this quarter, after Vytautas Sarakauskas two pointer, the result was 25:24 up by Lietuvos rytas. Later on both team scored their points and the game was very intriguing. Until big break Lietuvos rytas retained  a slippery lead - 36:34.  

The third quarter  started better for Siauliai (38:38), but Lietuvos rytas was not bad also (45:45). In the middle of this quarter,after Grafs two pointer, Siauliai got a small lead - 46:48. Later on siauliai was able to hold the advantage (48:51, 3min.). Siauliai had a problem with a fouls, because Mindaugas Zukauskas fouled out, Grafs and Vytautas Sarakauskas had four. But it was not so important, because the guests  was in  front after the third quarter - 52:57.

In the desicive quarter Lietuvos rytas showed character, but Siauliai played very aggressive. After Kenan Bajramovic three pointer the result was 60:59, next on Bajramovic scored another two pointer and result was 62:59. Later on Lietuvos rytas increased their lead until 10 points - 69:59. Siauliai showed big desire to win and was able to destroy the deficit (71:69, 3min.).  But then Steponas Babrauskas scored three pointer (74:69) and Lietuvos rytas was a little safer. In the last two minutes  basketball drama was here, in Vilnius (77:78, 24 sec.). In the last seconds  Ginevicius scored amazing three pointer and it was the end for Siauliai.  The hosts celebrated a difficult victory.
