BC Valmiera was founded in November 2001. Since foundation a basketball team of the club is achieved a very great results in every season in Latvian Basketball League (LBL) and also in international tournaments. In seasons 2002./2003 and 2004./2005 the team was finished in 3^rd place in Latvian Basketball League, but in the season 2003./2004 was 4th in LBL and FIBA Cup Europe Northern division.

This year is build up a new arena in Valmiera where the games will be held in 2005./2006 season.
