PASVALYS, Lithuania – Pieno Zvaigzdes have produced their fourth win of the season in style, thumping Kedainiai/Triobet 73-53 on Thursday night.
There was only one team in the encounter from the opening tipoff as Sylvester Morgan scored seven of his team’s first 13 points as the home team started the game on a 13-3 run that Kedainiai/Triobet would never recover from as endless turnovers and a poor shooting display stymied any chances they had of coming back.
The center would go on to finish the night with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Also picking up 16 points was his teammate Eimantas Bendzius.
After hitting just two shots from the field in the opening frame the situation would improve slightly for Gediminas Petrauskas’ team in the second quarter but they were still failing to find a solution to stem the flow of points being scored at the other end of the court as they found themselves trailing by 23 points at halftime.
Halftime failed to halt Pieno Zvaigzdes’ momentum as they continued to charge ahead in the third quarter, seeing their lead go out past 30 points.
In the final ten minutes and with the game already well beyond doubt Kedainiai/Triobet would be able to bring some respectability back into the scorecard, taking the frame by 14 points.
Laimonas Kiselius was the only playing finishing in double figures for the guests, picking up 11 points, despite going just four-for-nine from the field.
Pieno Zvaigzdes now move up to seventh spot in the standings while Kedainiai/Triobet remain lingering near the bottom of the table with just two wins from eight games.
