PRIENIAI, Lithuania – The roller-coaster ride that has been Rudupis' second half to the season continued on Thursday night with a morale boosting 112-107 double-overtime victory over Triumph.

After losing to Ventspils by 10 points earlier in the week it appeared that Rudupis had blown the perfect opportunity to turn the tables against another high-profile opponent by giving up an eight-lead in a high-scoring fourth quarter.

Victory then looked to have gone amiss at the end of the first period of overtime when Rudupis worked their way out to a five-point buffer with less than a minute remaining only for Gintaras Kadziulis to miss a three-pointer on the final play.

However the guard would make up for his miss, hitting a crucial three-pointer to break a 107-107 deadlock before adding the final two points of the night from the free-throw line with 30 seconds to play.

Kadziulis ended the game with 24 points – six less than teammate Adas Juskevicius who starred off the bench with a season-high 30 points on 10-for-13 shooting from the floor.

Trailing by seven points at the end of the first quarter, Juskevicius would score 10 points in the second frame to have Rudupis in front by three at halftime.

The lead was extended to eight by the end of the third quarter with the home team scoring six of the last eight points going into the 10 minutes of regluar time.

Leading by as much as 10 points going into the last five minutes, the game looked to be in the bag for Rudupis but Triumph had other thoughts as Tywain McKee came to life, scoring 10 points in under five minutes including the three-pointer that would tie the game at 88 with 19 seconds to play.

Mckee finished with a team-high 25 points.

With Arnas Labuckas then making a pair of free-throws for the hosts before Kadziulis followed up with another two it looked as if Rudupis had done enough for the win but when Artem Kuzyakin hit a three with four seconds remaining the game was headed for overtime.

Kuzyakin was again prominent in the first overtime with another five points to help take his tally to 13 by the end of the night but it was teammate Daniil Solovev coming up with the big play, picking up the defensive rebound before dunking home at the other end of the court to once more tie the game with three seconds remaining in the first overtime.

However Solovev would experience little reward for his big play with Rudupis finally prevailing at the end of the second overtime.

Rudupis' victory puts the Lithuanian club back in the top five in the standings, one point behind both Ventspils and Triumph.
